Band was great! Venue was NOT!
Amazing music and sound, lights…just fantastic! The venue though: Township Auditorium in Columbia, SC, needs some serious updating on seating. Was floor/orchestra level and the whole row of seats would move if someone plopped down in their seat too hard. Normal crowds wouldn’t be an issue, but the alcohol consumption was excessive. People double-fisting huge beers and going back for two more and barely being able to walk straight. Girl next to me was so drunk she kept spilling her beer in the folks sitting in front of her. She was a tiny little thing, and clearly not able to handle two beers, much less four! So yes, seating being scooted back into the people behind, not allowing to sit it would reduce the space so much! Also, bathrooms weren’t plentiful enough or easy to navigate in and out of.
Great show, every time
I've seen these guys five or six times now, from big-name venues in big cities, to small venues in smaller towns (Sweetwater Theater in Fort Wayne, IN, as an example). I've seen them as the lead bill, and I've seen them as the undercard for Jamie Johnson. Top-notch show every single time. Anyone out there complaining that there isn't any real rock out there anymore needs to go see one of these shows and then tell me that. This is Skynyrd (in their prime) musicianship with Black Crows style and ZZ Top attitude. That may sound over the top, but again, go see a show and then argue with me.
